Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Launched to Challenge Kawasaki & Suzuki

Honda has officially launched its much-anticipated premium streetfighter, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, in India at a starting price of ₹12.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open, and deliveries are set to begin in June 2025. The model will be sold exclusively via Honda’s BigWing Topline dealerships.

With this launch, Honda enters the competitive litre-class streetfighter category in India. The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP will go head-to-head with the Kawasaki Z900 (₹9.38 lakh) and the Suzuki Katana (₹13.61 lakh). The new model also complements Honda’s premium motorcycle portfolio, which includes the CBR650R, CB650R, and CB750 Hornet.

Powerful 999cc Inline-Four Engine Under the Hood

At the heart of the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that produces 155 hp and 107 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that features both assist and slipper clutch for smooth performance. Honda has equipped the bike with five riding modes—Sport, Standard, Rain, and two customisable User modes. Additional highlights include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and a bi-directional quickshifter.

High-Performance Suspension and Braking Setup

The motorcycle is built on a premium suspension setup with Showa inverted forks at the front and a sophisticated Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 296 mm front disc brakes and a single 240 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS to ensure enhanced rider safety.

Advanced Features and Connectivity Options

The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP comes loaded with modern tech, including full-LED lighting and a 5.0-inch TFT display. The display supports Bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app, allowing riders to access navigation, SMS and call alerts, and music control from their smartphones.

For now, Honda is offering the CB1000 Hornet SP in a single, bold shade — Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, giving it a sleek and aggressive appearance on the streets.
